Joseph D. Anderson joined the board in January 2019 and is its youngest member. He advocates for local participation in jobs created by the Port, which directly impacts the quality of life for residents within the Port District. He also supports the modernization of the Port to ensure the viability of current and future tenants.
Anderson is a native of Palm Beach County and graduated from Suncoast Community High School. He attended Bethune Cookman University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He also completed numerous graduate level business courses at Palm Beach Atlantic University and Nova Southeastern University. Anderson is a state certified construction contractor and home inspector. Prior to establishing his own construction company, he was a Numbers Analyst at AT&T for 19 years. He currently works for a municipal government that is known as the Signature City.
Anderson is a member of numerous organizations or boards such as: The League of Women Voters, the Palm Beach County Fair Housing & Equal Employment Advisory Board, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He was formerly a member of The Office of Small Business Assistance’s Palm Beach County Advisory Board, The City of West Palm Beach Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, The Voters League of the Palm Beaches, and served on the Port of Palm Beach Audit Committee for FY 2014.
