Public Records

The Port of Palm Beach is committed to Florida’s Open Government and Public Records Laws. Article I, Section 24 of the Florida Constitution sets forth the right of every person “to inspect or copy any public records made or received in connection with the official business of any public body, officer, or employee of the state, or persons acting in their behalf, except with respect to records exempted pursuant to this section or specifically made confidential by this Constitution.”

What are Public Records?
Public Records are all documents, papers, letters, maps, books, tapes, photographs, films, sound records, data processing software, or other materials, regardless of physical form, characteristics, or means of transmission, made or received pursuant to law or ordinance or in connection with the transaction of official business by the agency.

Please note:
Per Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, when submitting a public records request, you are not required to provide your name or explain why you are making a request. You are also not required to submit a request in writing; however, if you choose to make a request, please provide at least one method of contact. If you do not have an email address where you may be contacted, please provide another method of contact.
