Port of Palm Beach Kicks Off 6th Annual Toy Drive

Riviera Beach, Fla. – The Port of Palm Beach is now accepting donations for its 6th Annual Holiday Toy Drive.
On November 24, the Port of Palm Beach kicked off its 6th Annual Toy Drive by presenting a $500 Holiday Boat Parade sponsorship check to the Marine Industries Association’s along with a variety of toys and bikes for their Toys for Tots Campaign.
As part of the Port’s 2014-2015 Community Outreach Program, the Board of Commissioners previously approved a $2,500 allocation to purchase toys for this year’s drive.
“The Port of Palm Beach, its tenants and users are proud to partner with community organizations that continue to give back to our area,” said Commission Chairman Edward R. Oppel. “Since 2008, we have been able to surpass each year’s donation and this year our goal is to collect over 600 toys.
Past beneficiaries of the Port’s Annual Toy Drive have included: Place of Hope, Toys for Tots, Wayne Barton Community Center, City of Riviera Beach Parks & Recreation Annual Toy Drive, Tri-Cities Annual Toy Drive, Operation Hope, Revival Community Outreach Ministries, Local Unions and Children’s Medical Services.
Alyssa Freeman accepted the donation on behalf on the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County. “The Marine Industries Association truly values the support we receive each year from the Port of Palm Beach,” Freeman said. “We are sincerely appreciative of everyone that generously gives of their time and resources to make this Toy Drive such a success every holiday season.”
Donations to the toy drive may be dropped off at the following locations: Port of Palm Beach, 1 East 11th Street Riviera Beach in the lobby and on the 6th floor; Tropical Shipping Office Building 1st floor 4 East 11th Street; South Gate TWIC Office at 301 Broadway and the Port of Palm Beach Main Gate on MLK Blvd. thru December 18, 2014.
