The Port of Palm Beach kicked off its Annual Holiday Toy Drive on Thursday, December 1, 2022. The “12 Days of Giving” campaign encourages Port staff, tenants, stakeholders and the public to join in on the Port’s efforts of bringing joy to underserved children living in Riviera Beach.
“We understand there are many families in our community who may not be able to have the type of Christmas they wish for because they are trying to make ends meet,” said Port Executive Director Manuel Almira. “We hope our holiday campaign provides happiness and hope to those in need this holiday season.”
The goal is to collect 750 gifts in 12 days for children living in a nearby neighborhood called Azure Estates.
The Port partnered with a local nonprofit called Urban Youth Impact to assist with compiling the wish lists from the children at Azure Estates. The nonprofit will also be responsible for distributing the donated gifts during a holiday event in the neighborhood’s clubhouse.
“Every year, our Port family steps up to give back during the holidays. We are proud to announce this year our holiday gift drive is off to a record-breaking start with donations from two of our Port tenants,” said Port of Palm Beach District Board Chairman Blair Ciklin. “The company that leases the Port’s megayacht berth, Berth One Palm Beach, donated $3,000 and CEMEX purchased $1,000 worth of toys.”
Donations are being accepted now through December 12th. You can drop-off new unwrapped gifts at the Port’s Maritime Office Complex located at One East 11th Street Suite 600, Riviera Beach, FL. 33404 from Monday- Friday, 8:30 AM- 4:30 PM.
