During the June 16, 2022 Regular Board of Commissioners Meeting, the Port's Director of Finance Michael Williams showed how Port management continues to achieve operational efficiency. Williams used the graph below to show the Port's net operating revenue compared to its operating expenses. The wider the gap, the better you are. For more than 10 years now, the Port has consistently been in the mid to high 40 percentile, demonstrating high operating efficiency. This trend continued even through the COVID-19 pandemic. The Port's financial achievement is in large part due to Port management including Port Executive Director Manuel Almira, who has dedicated the last 14 years to boosting the Port's net operating revenue, while cutting down on unnecessary costs.
