[ARCHIVED] Local business organization recognizes Port Executive Director

Port Executive Director Manuel Almira

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County Distribution/Logistics Industry Task Force recognized Port Executive Director Manuel Almira for his achievements as a leader in the maritime and logistics industry.. Almira shared with the group how being bilingual helped him excel in his career.  He was born in Banes, Oriente, Cuba and moved to New York when he was just 10 years old. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of New York. Almira then began his career as a sales representative at a shipping company called U.S. Lines. At 33 years old, he embarked on a new journey in South Florida. He knew he could advance his career because of the large Hispanic presence in the area. Almira has spent the last 12 years leading our Port and today we thank him for his service.
