[ARCHIVED] Daylight Restrictions for Lake Worth Inlet

The Palm Beach Harbor Pilots' Association issued daylight restrictions for Lake Worth Inlet, in order to increase safety while the cutterhead dredge McCaskill is working the ship channel. All tug and barge units towing, or in the notch, including Articulated Tug Barges (ATBs) will require daylight transit. Sugar, oil, diesel and asphalt vessels are included. In addition, all vessels of more than 550 feet LOA will require daylight transit.

Daylight and/or Slack Water may be required for any vessel not listed, depending upon the vessel's size and handling characteristics, and the location of the dredge, pipeline, and anchor buoys. These restrictions apply to both inbound and outbound traffic, while the dredge is working the ship channel.

Daylight begins at Morning Civil Twilight and ends at Sunset. For twilight and sunset times, please click here.

The dredge is expected to complete operations between December 25, 2017 and January 1, 2018. The Pilots expect to be at full project depth before then.
