The Port of Palm Beach hosted a press conference on Wednesday, October 11, for Palm Beach County Cares, community leaders committed to making a difference in the lives of those devastated by this year’s hurricane season. Rescued Turtles

63 Turtles Rescued at the Port of Palm Beach

Last week's stormy days brought in an unusual blanket of seaweed in the Port's Slips. And much to the surprise of workers along the docks, this dense accumulation of seaweed also brought dozens of tiny visitors: green, loggerhead and hawksbill hatchlings! Between Wednesday, October 4 and Friday, October 6, 63 turtles were rescued and transported from the Port to Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach.
