Staff Promotions

Join us in congratulating Beatrice Greffin and Brad Elling on their recent promotions!

Beatrice Greffin, formerly the Manager of Human Resources, Payroll, and Foreign-Trade Zone, was promoted to Director of Human Resources and Administration, reporting to Manuel Almira, Executive Director of the Port of Palm Beach. Greffin began her career with the Port in November 2010. She adds the management of board meetings, commissioner affairs, and records administration to her Human Resources responsibilities. The Foreign-Trade Zone duties will be managed by Jackie Machado, Marketing Analyst for the Business Development team.
 
In the Accounting department, Brad Elling has been promoted to Assistant Controller and continues to report to Daniel Kirchman, Controller. In September of 2014, Elling joined the Port as a Staff Accountant. He now supplements his responsibilities with payroll administration.

Operation Guardian

South Florida’s Regional Domestic Security Task Force conducted Operation Guardian, a full day of training, safety and security exercises at the Port of Palm Beach in March. Participating agencies included the Department of Homeland Security, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Riviera Beach Police Department, West Palm Beach Police Department, Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Lauderdale Police Department, Miami-Dade Police Department and Miami Police Department. By conducting Operation Guardian, the Port of Palm Beach strengthens its resolve in upholding its mission to prevent, deter, respond and recover from acts of terror or aggression, while giving assets within the region the opportunity to train on complex and rigorous missions. Audited Comprehensive Financial Report for FY 2016

The Port of Palm Beach published its audited comprehensive financial report for the Fiscal Year of 2016, the period from October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016. The Port’s total net position in FY 2016 increased by 4% or $4.3 million, consisting of $1.8 million of income before capital contributions and $2.5 million of grants from federal, state and private sources. At the end of the 2016 fiscal year, the unrestricted net position was 186% of cash operating expenses and the return on the unrestricted net position was 11%. Click here to read more.
