In 1963, Tropical Shipping did what had never been done before – it committed to a set and dependable sailing schedule to the Bahamas. Many thought they couldn’t do it, but they followed through, and 60 years ago the Tropic Ace made its maiden voyage to Freeport, Grand Bahamas.
Tropical Shipping now serves more than 30 locations from Canada to the Caribbean and South America. The company has invested in new equipment and larger, faster, and cleaner-fueled vessels to improve its service. It’s part of their commitment to the region.

The company celebrated the milestone by hosting a luncheon for its employees. Port of Palm Beach District Board Chairwoman Dr. Jean L. Enright, Secretary/ Treasurer Dr. Deandre Poole and members of senior staff attended the event held Wednesday, August 2nd.
