The Palm Beach International Boat Show is back with a live event and dozens of company's are here displaying their business.

“I think everyone is kind of ready to get back to somewhat of a normal routine. This is a great way to kick it off right here," said Alex Arruza.

Arruza is the general manager of operations for Palm Beach Marine Fuel, a subsidiary of Port of Palm Beach tenant SSI Petroleum.

“We are a supplier of fuel diesel gasoline to boats primarily in the recreational side of the business so sports fishing boats, big center consoles, yachts, small motor yachts, boat dealers," Arruza said.

“ I am quite surprised they do not know a service like this exists. They are used to before or after fishing or going on the boat having to go to the marina get fuel and pay marina prices. So it’s nice to let people know we do this. We will go to your home or to your marina and fuel you. You do not have to be there. It’s a convenience factor and hopefully we can save you some money in the process as well.”

As a subsidiary of SSI Petroleum, Palm Beach Marine Fuel also delivers fuel to vessels visiting the Port of Palm Beach mega yacht facility at Berth One Palm Beach.  Arruza said they also sell lubricants and additives, as well as provide fuel polishing services.

“In the wonderful state we live in Florida, it’s humid, so you will get condensation that develops in fuel tanks and water will sink to the bottom and algae and other problems can occur and cause a lot of problems in the engine. So with fuel polishing you actually go run it through a series of filters you can remove an algae and other containments and as well as the water. And your finish product is nice clean fuel without losing a gallon," Arruza said.

He said as a rule of thumb, boat owners should fuel polish at least once a year. Especially if you fuel up in different parts of the Caribbean where you never truly know the quality of fuel you’re getting.

“We know boats. We grew up boating. We are all local Floridians here. It’s a tight family,” Arruza said.

That’s one of the main reasons the company finds ways to give back to the local community.

“We have partnered up with the Place of Hope they are hosting a tournament this summer. So we partnered up with them and decided to donate 15 cents a gallon purchased by anyone who is actually finishing in the tournament between now and the time the tournament takes place,“ Arruza said.

If you would like to stop by Palm Beach Marine Fuel’s booth, they are located at the south end of the show near Okeechobee and Flagler at booth 1108.
