Oceans
Casino Cruises, Inc. Ceases Operations at Port of Palm
Beach Effective September 28, 2007.
Statement from Wayne M. Richards
Port of Palm Beach District Chairman of the Board
Concerning Ocean Casino Cruises Cease of Operations
Obviously, we at Port of Palm Beach are sad
to see SunCruz leave the port. However, we understand that
businesses must often make difficult decisions. We are
indeed grateful that SunCruz operated at the port for a
trial period, and they were a pleasure to work with.
During the period that the SunCruz vessel
joined Palm Beach Princess at the port, cruise
passenger numbers were up by approximately 9 percent, and
we are confident that the port’s passenger numbers will
remain high as we believe Palm Beach Princess will
absorb some of this additional volume.
Furthermore, we are encouraged with the
progress that the operator of Palm Beach Princess
is making in its successful reorganization and believe
this longtime favorite attraction of the port will further
flourish as it embarks upon its new marketing initiative.
